Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy

Created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the famous Crash Bandicoot, the N. Sane Trilogy will remake the first 3 games in the series (Crash Bandicoot, Cortex Strikes Back and Warped). Although Naughty Dog were the original developers of the trilogy, Sony and Activision are teaming up to create the remake.

Over the years there have been many attempts to revive Crash, with all of the previous efforts falling through. This adaption of the Crash Bandicoot series being announced at E3 in 2016.

The upcoming games have been dubbed a ‘Remaster +’ rather than a remaster or remake of the series. As the N. Sane Trilogy was built upon the foundation of the originals but with added levels and elements to modernise and improve the experience.

Like in the originals, the player controls Crash as he spins and jumps through various levels to defeat enemies, smash crates, collect items (such as Wumpa fruits), gain extra lives and Aku Aku masks. New features in the game play will include: Unified checkpoints, manual and automatic save point systems, pause menus and time trials throughout all 3 games. With upscaled 4K resolution and remastered audio also being added to the series.

Another new addition to the remasters is that players can choose to control Coco Bandicoot in all 3 games! Coco Bandicoot is Crash’s younger sister and a staple character in the series. Her first appearance (in the original trilogy) was in the second instalment to the series – Cortex Strikes Back.

There has been debate amongst fans of the series about which platform the game series will be released on. Created in part by PlayStation, it is thought that the games will be exclusive to the PS4. Though, an official statement has not be made as of yet. The latest news being that the game will be released on PS4 first before porting to other consoles.

Here at Bespoke Arcades we are certainly excited about the Crash remakes. Will you be buying the trilogy? Did you play the originals?
